Today's Guest is Steven F. Macek

As a co-host on the podcast, Steven F. Macek is full of insight into the human experience, thanks to his work as both an attorney and a spiritual medium. He is also Coach Elix's husband, which makes him the perfect guest to discuss experiencing Elix's vulnerability firsthand while they are grieving the loss of a loved one. Steven offers compassion to those experiencing grief with his caring nature, so listen in.

Vulnerability and Grief Go Hand in Hand

While having a conversation on self and vulnerability as it relates to the grieving process, Coach Elix and Steven shared that it's impossible to experience one without the other. Losing someone close to you turns the world upside down. It leaves you feeling entirely vulnerable since the emotional and spiritual magnitude of the event forces you to enter grief using all five senses.

Steven explains that the sixth sense offers the most comfort, especially if the deceased's spirit can offer comforting messages to the loved ones left behind. However, the key thing to remember is a light at the end of every tunnel. With grief, this light comes at the end of each day you survive.

It might be painful, but every day you get through provides another step toward peace.

How To Support Others During a Period of Grief and Vulnerability

As the primary support system for Coach Elix during his grief, Steven reveals how to help others close to you who are coping with the loss of a loved one. He notes that while sending a text or offering well wishes on social media is easy, nothing tops picking up the phone.

Call the person you care about; you shouldn't feel uncomfortable or hesitate until 'the right time' to reach out.

Once you establish contact, give that person the freedom to communicate when and how they please. For some, this may take a while as they navigate their grief, but ultimately, Steven explains that human interaction is everything. Eventually, the person going through the loss will appreciate you reaching out and standing by them.
