Breaking the Silence: Men’s Wellbeing Matters!

In a recent podcast sit-down, Coach Elix spoke to Jonathan Brajtbord, a widely cited Men’s Health and Urology scholar specializing in inner work to help men find the balance, focus, and purpose to change their lives.

It’s a topical issue.   Despite a diminishing stigma, many men still feel uncomfortable opening up or being honest and vulnerable with themselves

In this episode of Get a G.R.I.P. with Coach Elix, "Breaking The Silence: Men's Wellbeing Matters!" We explore some of the most common hurdles keeping men quiet today.

It’s also Coach Elix and Steven’s anniversary on this episode!

Today’s Guest: Johnathon Brajtbord

Dr. Jonathan Brajtbord is a Urologist at Greater Boston Urology, with work published in Urology journals worldwide. He has also spent his career helping men transform their lives through inner work and mindfulness. In this episode, he shares his perspectives on the issues facing men and thriving in the face of them. When he’s not on skiing or hiking adventures with his family, he’s getting chores done on his farm in Medfield.

Men Today Suffer in Silence

Throughout history, men have been told to be physically and emotionally strong to survive. This narrative can increasingly convince men that their worth comes solely from being cold, strong, and emotionless.

As a result, many men suppress their emotions and shut themselves off from the tools they need to process life authentically and constructively. When the pressure gets too high, many men feel disconnected and worthless despite shouldering heavy responsibilities.

In spite of a push to normalize mental health discussions for men over the last decade, there’s still a lot of work to do. Suicide rates, especially among young men, show us that too many of our brothers, fathers, and husbands still suffer in silence.

We’re Breaking the Silence

Men’s well-being matters — in mind, body, and spirit.

Jonathon Brajtbord has seen incredible results in his clients by helping them recognize and vocalize their silent struggles. For the first time, many men are learning that they deserve to be heard and supported.

Being strong doesn’t have to mean suffering alone anymore.

Breaking the silence doesn’t just mean speaking up, though. It means recognizing that men’s emotional well-being is a vibrant cause that should be cultivated instead of a sign of weakness.
Men deserve to feel authorship over their lives, and the first step is removing the stigma and shame that keep them silent.

The G.R.I.P. Method

G.R.I.P. stands for "Greatness Requires Intention & Purpose," and many who have followed this method can attest to that. This strategy helps people find their goals, inspirations, and visions and execute them with clear intentions through planning, purpose, and integrity. It works with science and psychology to make dreams a reality.

It is a roadmap that guides you through struggles and hardships, with the final destination being the life you want to lead or the changes you wish to make. The G.R.I.P. Method offers a plan to go from fear to freedom and helps you break away from where past attempts did not work.
